INTERNATIONAL ADVISORY BOARD Rotterdam has a unique advisory board of leading international experts. This International Advisory Board (IAB) Rotterdam was set up in 2004 by the Municipal Executive. The IAB, chaired by former Prime Minister Ruud Lubbers, is the international branch of the Economic Development Board Rotterdam (EDBR). The Board advises the Municipality of Rotterdam on (socio-) economic policy. The IAB contributes to the prosperity and well-being of all Rotterdam residents.

IAB advises Rotterdam Rotterdam must take the lead in solving the issue of accessibility. Retaining an international airport is essential for the economic growth of the city and the region. Furthermore, Rotterdam must become world leader in the field of water knowledge and making the best use of the water that’s available and finally the city needs to focus on economic participation rather than integration.
